Kansas [1974] Kansas

Kansas dibentuk di Topeka, 1970, oleh
Kerry Livgren (Guitarist), Dave Hope (Bassist) & Phil Ehart (Drummer),
yang telah bermain musik bersama sejak masa SMA.
Dengan bergabungnya Robbie Steinhardt pemain violin classic, kemudian
Steve Walsh (Keyboardist/ Vocalist) dan Richard Williams (Guitars),
Kansas memulai awal berdirinya dengan melakukan tour tanpa kenal lelah dan berjuang agar dikenal. Pada awalnya Kansas menggabungkan antara kerumitan Prog-Rock British dan Boogie style America. Kansas salah satu Band yang populer pada akhir 70-an, yang lagu-lagunya masih sering dimainkan di radio-radio sampai hari ini.

Album studio pertama Kansas.
Sangat Prog-Rock dengan banyak sound Violin (bandingkan dengan sound Flute pada album Jethro Tull). Dengan tour yang gak kenal lelah akhirnya album ini cukup sukses dan Kansas dapat diterima oleh para penggemar.
