dan sekaligus judul awal album mereka.. The Court Of Crimson King..
King Crimson juga berarti Beelzebub atau pemimpin setan.
King Crimson didirikan oleh:
Michael Giles (Drums, Vocals), Peter Giles (Bass, Vocals), Robert Fripp (Guitar),
yang telah bermain bersama dalam Trio Giles, Giles & Fripp.
Kemudian Ian McDonald (Mellotron, Vocals) & Peter Sinfield (Synth & Penulis lagu) bergabung.
Musik Prog-Rock yg dimainkan kadang bercampur dengan jazz maupun classic.
